Royal jelly or bee's milk comes from the hypopharyngeal glands of nurse bees. Worker bees consume royal jelly during their first three days, while queen bees consume royal jelly for the rest of their lives. This difference in diet has led to drastic differences between queen bees and worker bees. For example, queen bees live 40 times longer than ordinary worker bees. They also produce up to two thousand eggs per day, while other female worker bees do not produce eggs.
Royal jelly has been proven to lower bad cholesterol and in turn, total cholesterol.
